The Worthouse Drift Team is set to take part in all eight rounds of the world's premier professional drifting competition with a pair of Falken Tire-shod, 900 hp Nissan Silva S15s maintained by Bridges Racing and driven by Piotr Więcek, a 27-year-old Pole and three-time, reigning Polish Drift Masters GP Champion, as well as the 25-year-old James Deane from Ireland, a five-time Irish and European Drift Champion.
The opening round of the 2017 season will take place this upcoming weekend on the spectacular but challenging and unforgiving Grand Prix Street Course in Long Beach and will be streamed live on www.formulad.com/live with qualifying on Friday and the main event on Saturday.
“Ever since we've teamed up with James at the beginning of last year we wanted to reach for more and did everything to step up to Formula Drift, the pinnacle of drifting competition – says Piotr Więcek. - Our first season in the US will be a learning curve as we need to understand the tracks, our new cars and our very experienced competition in order to battle at the front as soon as possible. Having said that we're not here to make up the numbers during our rookie campaign and we'll do our best from the get go. Our cars look stunning and they're the most advanced, capable and fine-tuned machines we've ever driven. We'll give them a good workout on the streets of Long Beach this weekend.”

“Long Beach is a special track – adds James Deane. - It's a street, slippery course, with concrete, unforgivable walls on the edges of the road. Each corner is a huge challenge as it's very easy to make a mistake and end up with a damaged car. You have to stay really focused, especially as there's not much practice before the event as we only get four to six runs. But every year all of this makes up for a great show. Last months were really intense with our cars being built in Poland and Ireland before arriving in the US only last week. We're still working around the clock and burning the midnight oil in preparation for this weekend but this is exactly what we wanted and why we're here.”
